Frequently Asked Questions

What Is Grep42?

Grep42 is a simple search engine for freelance and contract jobs. It allows you to search through the latest freelance jobs from across the internet.

What happens when I search for 2 or more terms?

We've tried to make Grep42 more intuitive and have updated the default behvaiour in the last update. Now, searching for multiple terms would return results that contain all terms. For eg., searching for php facebook presents results that contain both "php" AND "facebook".

How can I search for results from a particular source?

You can use source:[source name] shorthand in your search query for restricting results to a particular source.
eg: php source:odesk

Currently, only "elance" and "odesk" are supported as sources.

How can I search for only hourly/fixed-price jobs?

You can use type:[hourly or fixed] shorthand for searching for only hourly or fixed-price jobs.
eg: php type:hourly

Can I restrict results based on budget of a job?

Yes you can! You can specify the minimum budget for the results with minbudget:[number] shorthand.
eg: php type:hourly minbudget:15

For hourly jobs, minbudget would imply the hourly rate. For fixed-price jobs, it would be minimum fixed-price budget.

[Note: Jobs that don't mention a budget will be ignored from the results]
